Historic Hotels of America® has recognized the Morris House Hotel, along with other renowned and legendary historic hotels and resorts from across the United States of America, Puerto Rico, and Washington, D.C., for conserving and maintaining their historic integrity, architecture, and ambiance.
For a hotel to be chosen as a member of the Historic Hotels of America, it should be at least 50 years old, designated by the U.S. Secretary of the Interior as a National Historic Landmark, or listed in or eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places and recognized as having historic significance.

The Morris House Hotel in Philadelphia is a 1787 Federal-style historic house and garden.
Lawrence Horwitz, Executive Vice President of Historic Hotels of America and Historic Hotels Worldwide, welcomes the owners Michael and Tracey DiPaolo, Eugene and Deborah Lefevre, and their management team to Historic Hotels of America.
The Morris House Hotel has been designated by the U.S. Secretary of Interior as a National Historic Landmark. The hotel has a long history and maintains its architectural integrity.
The Reynolds Family built it in 1787 during the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention. The signers included two important members of the Morris family who became the house’s new owners. For almost 150 years, several generations of the Morris family have lived in the house.
The current owners bought the property in 2000 and immediately started converting the house and two adjacent buildings into a first-class hotel.
