The Great Florida Road Trip is a one-of-a-kind gaming experience that takes place in an observation wheel, soaring up to 400 feet in the air. Using a special camera fitted with infrared technology, players snap photos of themed markers on the rooftops below, competing for points to win a prize. With 45 markers symbolizing a nostalgic road trip through Florida, players can snap photos of everything from vintage billboards to postcards promoting famous travel destinations in the pre-Disney era.

The Great Florida Road Trip celebrates Florida’s earliest tourism pioneers, including Silver Springs’ glass-bottom boats, space launches, Daytona car racing, the Ringling Bros. Circus and Clown College, underwater mermaid shows, and wildlife wonders of Marineland, Gatorland, and Monkey Jungle. The Experience: How to Play The Great Florida Road Trip

Upon boarding The Wheel, each player receives a special camera resembling a vintage long-lens photographer’s camera from the 50s, but outfitted with infrared technology that reaches up to 1,000 feet to interact with game markers on the rooftops below. Players aim at the sensors in each marker and “snap” a photo to electronically register points. Every cabin has a winner, as the high score gets a prize. The game is designed to be played during the beginning and end ride segments, so midway players can relax and enjoy the view of the ultimate Florida travel destination: Orlando.
